Fast Company is a magazine that focuses on small businesses and their homeowners. Most media analysts from Marshal McLuhan to Noam Chomsky, have proven, tv and print news cater to the corporate and political entities who created them, and make sure they maintain them in enterprise. What they turn to most there is news that serves speedy needs – climate, information about eating places and other local businesses, and visitors.
Stanley Walker, the famous editor of the now-defunct New York HeraldTribune outlined information because the three W’s — women, wampum and wrongdoing” (practical translation: sex, cash and crime). The information business, late to adapt and culturally more tied to content creation than engineering, finds itself more a follower than chief shaping its business.
Most of those tales are home information, normally about political or economic happenings, much of it originating from Washington. Television news applications usually place a humorous or quirky story on the finish of the show to complete on a feel-good note. Also, with out the presence of an anchor to ease the transition from news to promoting and back, the viewer can be watching singing canines one second and crying children the next.
